SUITE SIXTEEN is a series of paintings that are grouped together as one piece. They can be viewed 4x4 (as left), or in a long horizontal line. Or they can be viewed individually - "entities" in their own right. Each painting is comprised of 16 squares of different colours, which is about as basic a format as one can construct. I see these works as exercises in colour relationships, somewhat akin to a musician practicing scales. However, although the dialogue of each individual painting is rather limited, all together the effect is more than the sum total. Every colour is different, (including the background stripes), although this might not be obvious with these small jpegs.
