ALL HAIL TO THE
GREAT GOD MAN BOMB!

1984

Acrylic on canvas

75 x 50 cms / 30" x 20"

This painting, along with a few others around this period, expressed my concern (along with most other rational people), with what seemed to be almost certain nuclear conflagration. With Maggie and Ronnie playing death chess with the Kremlin, I felt angry and impotent that my life was in these mad people's hands. Annihilation is still very possible, but it isn't quite so tangible now as it was in the dark days of the early 1980s.
