These paintings are amongst those that I made after I leaving college,
and date from 1983 until about '87. Wow, where did that time go?
They are the first works of mine that show some sort of originality. I think.
These are the paintings that made me realise
that I really, truly wanted to be an artist.
I painted quite a few at home until I got my
first studio in 1985.
The figures in these pics are more primitive and somehow
less "human" than the later, more realistic figurative paintings.
