life history

(possibly the best live band ever - gabba gabba hey!!), Yami Bolo, A R Penck, Raymond - a dear friend of mine who happens to be deaf, Matthew, my best friend who died, all my other friends, and family. and, i guess, everyone else who tries to follow a noble, peacful and righteous path. i like people that are true and good to themselves and positive and respectful of other peoples' ways and lifestyles. people who struggle through life and its ups and downs and manage to get through it all with a positive spirit, especially if they are sick or down or disabled. basically, i will respect you if you are cool with people in general and with who i am as a human being. we are all people, yet we are all different, and we are also all individuals, and yet we are creatures who like to bond together (but squabble too, unfortunately). i like those human beings who try to get on with other people, regardless of their colour, faith, creed, religion, appearance, or history.

people i don't admire:
Hitler, Stalin, Mao and all the other meglomaniacs and dictators, big and small, bullies of body and mind, politicians in general, terrorists who kill innocent people knowingly, religious zealots of any creed, Jesus and Mohammed for in who's names an age-old religious war that may kill us all exists, dim people who dismiss evolution (?), scientists without ethics, people who don't give a damn about environmental destruction, and loads more shitty people I don't wanna think about...

stuff i like:
sleeping, my friends, art, water, tea, real food, getting high, being straight, reggae, sci-fi, apple macs, curry, 2 wheels, progressive rock music, pasta, tv, my fuji F1 digital camera, graffiti, sex, drugs and rock'n'roll,
Dominican Republic, love, nuts.

stuff I don't like:
the cult of celebrity, depression, mediocrity, the state of the planet, violence, poor health, drugs, graffiti, my laziness, hate and lots of other things that really shouldn't get me annoyed!

artist stuff
my history of an artist is one of a personal investigation that started most consciously with the painting of an imaginary dinosaur when I was 9 years old. it has been a journey into the figurative and the abstract and the meeting of the two using various media including painting, photography (and most recently vid), ever since then.

i have had a few exhibitions in London and abroad, but the big artworld is mostly unaware of my presence. by the way, if anyone wants to show my work or represent me then please contact me.

like most artists i have to support my art, my vocation, my hobby even, by having a proper job. i try to work part-time so i can do my true work - my work in (and out of) the studio.

my time in the studio is spent painting, eating, updating the website (like now), and generally being arty, y'know. the tv is usually on, but i won't be watching it, i'll use it like a radio. or i will play music (loud if it is the middle of the night and no-one is is around). i like working through the night when i am at the studio. t've got a mattress where I can crash if i want to work really, really late. i paint because it is something i am enjoy doing - i find it thereputic i guess. it literally is my focus. being an artist is my life - it is what defines me as a human being.

since october 2000 when i uploaded my website and since then i have been able to show my art via the internet, which is such a mind-boggling concept. people all around this planet earth can view my art, which is just fantastic!

in may 2006, i totally revamped and updated the website and changed its name from www.ahumanbeing.co.uk to www.ahumanbeing.com, and i have started adding facilities for the viewer to buy my work on-line.

sometime also in 2006, i hope to be uploading three new websites dealing with my interests. these are:
1) www.thehumanbeings.com - not sure what exactly is going to go on here, but photos and information of random strangers who may be able to upload their own details is one idea. myspace.com it ain't gonna be.
2) www.ahumanbeing.org - this website is for people who want to check out various charitable organisations, and also to make a gift or donation to the fund that I am setting up. Have a look at the site for more info.
3) www.graffiti1.com - i have a love-hate relationship with graffiti. this website is my documentation of the art and writing of the street.

thanks. JUSTIN.

meanwhile, here is a pic of me...
