I believe that photography is as an important an art form as painting, sculpture or whatever. Photography has informed my practise as an artist as much as any medium and I love taking pictures. For many years I used my Canon AE1 35mm SLR and in the studio at Carpenter's Rd I built a darkroom. This has now been put in storage now I've moved studios. However, I have my slide scanner, so I can develop my slides and negatives digitally. In may 2005 I bought a Fuji F10 digital camera (European digital camera of the year, no less) and rarely use film now. Having a digital camera means the ability to take a large quantity of pics and edit on the fly, knowing that they will come out - unlike the worry of processing with film. It is such a liberation. To see some work with the new camera look at 100 photographs from D.R. or soon www.graffiti1.com - my new website (going on-line sometime in 2006), which is photos of graffiti and wall writings in London and beyond.
